Super Stars at Baden-Powell and St Peter’s School

Super Stars at Baden-Powell and St Peter’s opened in September 2013. We operate from Maidment Hall and we provide Breakfast Club from 7.45am-8.45am and After School from 3.20pm-6.00pm.

There are four key members of staff as follows:

Tory Carswell is the Supervisor of the club, and is qualified to Level 3, Tory will welcome your child into the club and ensure that they have a fun time.

Leanne Huntley is a Nursery Practitioner qualified to Level 3 and has had previous experience of working in an After School setting.

Sarah Marshallsay joined us in November 2013. Sarah holds a Level 3 qualification in childcare and brings with her a wealth of different ideas and activities.

Suzanne Millar is our newest member of the team and brings with her a wealth of experience looking after older children.

During Breakfast Club children can enjoy a nice, healthy, nutritious breakfast with a choice of cereals on offer as well as toast, porridge or pancakes and a drink of milk, juice or water. After breakfast the children have the opportunity to play:-

 Table Tennis and ball games

 Cricket

 Read a book

 Board Games

 Problem solving

If they are feeling creative there is also the opportunity to do some colouring or drawing or they can just sit and relax in the chill zone where they have bean bags, books and Kindles before being taken to class .

After school club opens at 3.20pm and is held in the Maidment Hall; here the children can relax and unwind after a hard day at school. Superstars offers a variety of exciting and different opportunities including physical activities such as tennis, cricket, badminton and ,when the weather is nice, this can all be done outside. There are also opportunities for Arts and Crafts celebrating different festivals throughout the year. From October to Easter we

offer the chance for children to attend Skiing lessons and from Easter to July Sailing lessons. We also offer a variety of board games and puzzles as well as opportunities to get creative or spend some time cooking up something nice for tea.

Meal times are social occasions where children are involved in setting up the tables, laying them and assisting in serving or collecting food.

Included in our price is a home cooked tea served between 4.30pm-5.00pm. Our menu includes delicious dishes such as Spanish Creamy Pasta, Spaghetti Bolognaise, Beef Fajitas, Chilli and Rica and Meatballs and Pasta. Dinner is then followed by a selection of different puddings including yoghurt, cake and custard, jelly and ice cream. All of these are served with fruit. In providing tea for the children this enables you to pick your child up and spend quality time together.

As part of Superstars we have a council that meet once a week to discuss various aspects of the After School Club including any ideas that they may have or any changes they would like to make. The council is made up of two children from each year group - one girl and one boy and new children are appointed every term. Each child is appointed an area to oversee such as Sports, Creativity, events, general wishes and focuses and discussing the Menu. The ideas are then integrated into the daily routine

Holiday Club

During the school holidays and Inset days we offer a holiday club open from 8am-6pm; children can attend from 8am-1pm and 1pm—6pm. Holiday club offers a wide variety of activities. There is a theme for every Holiday Club.

Holiday Club is held at Rossmore Leisure Centre where we have access to all the on-site facilities. The children have the opportunity to go swimming, do Gym and Trampoline, play in the soft play area, use the skatepark and run free in the large outdoor open space. We are based in the main sports hall and have this exclusively for ourselves; there is an area set up for children to relax and do arts and crafts as well as the rest of the hall to run around in and play sports activities.

The cost of our After School club is £12 per session including a hot meal and the Breakfast club is £4 a session if booked regularly. The Holiday club is £31 a day 8am-6pm if booked in advance. Morning and Afternoon sessions are available at a cost of £16
