Safeguarding

Safeguarding during the Summer Holidays

If you have a safeguarding concern over the summer holidays, while school is closed, here is how you can seek help.

Children's First Response MASH - BCP Council

The Children's First Response Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is the single point of contact for Children's Social Care and Early Help in Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole. It provides the public and professionals with information, advice and support for children who are vulnerable and at risk and is made up of the MASH and Early Help Teams.

Contact the Children's First Response MASH (01202 123334) or e-mail (childrensfirstresponse@bcpcouncil.gov.uk):

  • if you are worried a child or young person is at risk of, or is being hurt or abused

  • if you know of a child or young person who may be vulnerable without additional help and support

  • if you want to know more about the services available to support children, young people and their families

Office hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30 to 5.15 pm and Fridays 8.30 to 4.45 pm.

The safeguarding of our pupils is our top priority and staff, volunteers and parents/carers have a responsibility to ensure our children's safety.  We strive to ensure there is always a DSL on site so anyone is able to raise a concern, no matter how big or how small.  Don't think "What if I'm wrong?" but "What if I'm right?" The concerns you have might form part of a bigger picture which could help prevent harm to a young person.  Giving families help at an early stage can help prevent the escalation of safeguarding concerns and we are committed to working with parents/carers and other agencies to do this effectively.
