    At Baden-Powell and St. Peter's C.E. Junior School we believe that educating children about being safe on-line is essential.  Online Safety is an integral part of children's education in today's digital world and is embedded in their learning at school.  As part of our computing curriculum, all children from Year 3 to Year 6 follow our Online Safety Scheme of Work focusing on identifying the risks about being online and how to keep themselves safe.  

    Our Online Safety Champion is Mrs Fiona Kyte.

    • Dorset Police Safer Schools and Communities Team (SSCT) The SSCT is a partnership between Dorset Police, The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Dorset Combined Youth Justice Service with a remit to prevent/reduce anti-social behaviour, crime and wrong-doing amongst children and young people and help keep them safe in a digital world. The team consists of dedicated Schools Officers, all of whom undertake Safeguarding training and undergo enhanced vetting on a regular basis.

    Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity to focus on online safety with your child, whatever their age. We have created a range of pages to help you start a conversation with your child, whatever that may be about and no matter how much time you have.

    Safer Internet Day 2025 took place on the 11th of February 2025, with celebrations and learning based around the theme ‘Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online‘

    • Parent Zone Help your family be safer and savvier online. "Be Internet Legends" from Google and Parent Zone helps families to become safer and more confident explorers of the online world. As parents, you're the experts on your kids – as well as their first and most important teachers. These tips and tricks are designed to support what you're doing at home – while helping you to have fun together.
    • NSPCC Keeping children safe online 1 in 5 internet users in the UK are children. We won't stop until every child is safe online. It may feel daunting to talk about staying safe online – especially when your children are using the internet differently to you. We have advice and support to help:

    • Child Net Childnet's fantastic resources include toolkits, videos, lesson plans, family activities and much more! We work with young people across the UK to ensure that their voices are heard and respected, whether this is in shaping policy or in building resources.
